Crowd Tutor: Architect of Self
More than a game. It's an ecosystem for growth, where every quest is a step toward self-discovery and every achievement builds a pathway to a real-world future.
The World: Your Mind Made Manifest
The journey begins in First Light Commons, a warm and supportive village where new architects meet their first mentors. From there, each user is granted their own Knowledge World—a personal, floating island that is a direct manifestation of their mind.
Initially, this world is covered in "The Murk," a swirling fog representing uncertainty and the unknown. As users engage in learning and master new skills, they construct magnificent "Mission Buildings." Each new building pushes back The Murk, creating a clear, tangible, and deeply personal visualization of their progress and growing self-confidence.
The Gameplay: Concurrent Loops of Growth
The core of Architect of Self is a powerful, self-reinforcing dual-loop system designed to connect a user's inner world with outer opportunities.
1. The Inner Compass (Personal Growth & Expertise): This first loop is about building a robust sense of self. Guided by in-game mentors, users engage our proprietary VIGOR process to identify their core values. They then learn to structure these values into actionable learning "Missions" using our MiCoRe goal-setting framework. Completing missions develops their expertise and expands their Knowledge World.
2. The Worldly Path (Professional Identity & Experience): Success in the first loop unlocks the second. As a user's Knowledge World develops, "Emissary" characters representing real-world partner organizations will arrive in their village with opportunities. Users can then embark on "Employer Questlines"—targeted missions designed to build the specific skills needed for real volunteer placements, internships, and jobs.
The Power of Collaboration: Learn and Build Together
While the journey is personal, growth is social. Architect of Self is built for collaboration, mirroring how real communities learn and work together. Future features will include:
Shareable Mission Buildings: Users can share the templates of their completed learning missions exclusively with their real-world peer group, allowing friends to learn from each other's success.
Collaborative "Raids": To master the most challenging concepts, users can team up with peers to perform collaborative "raids" on select aspects of a Mission, working together to solve problems and deepen their collective understanding.
The Foundation: Research-Driven Evidence
Architect of Self is an evidence-based learning platform built on a foundation of rigorous research and pedagogy. Our approach is powered by proprietary, interconnected frameworks designed for deep, personalized, and ethical development:
VIGOR (Values, Interests, and Goals through Ongoing Reflection): Our process for scaffolding value identification and fostering intrinsic motivation.
MMMAAP ("map"): Our integrative instructional design framework that ensures learning experiences are Meaningful, Active, and Applied.
ReACT (Responsive, Attunement-Centred Technology): Our ethical AI philosophy ensuring the platform is a supportive, humane, and developmentally constructive tool.
This isn't just gamification; it's a research-driven platform focused on program evaluation, pedagogical innovation, and tangible, positive outcomes for youth.
