Joel is a PhD Candidate in Curriculum and Pedagogy with a specialization in Knowledge Media Design, with experience in collaborative learning and AI at the University of Toronto. With a background in Computer Science (HCI) and an MA, he brings years of experience with project management and development of educational software, recently focusing on innovative and ethical uses of Large Language Models (LLMs). Driven to address challenges of adolescent identity development and the negative impacts of digital media, Joel applies his expertise in the learning sciences and responsible use of AI to lead Crowd Tutor's vision.
